Join Troubleshooting
When a profile fails to join a Telegram group, an error message is displayed in the dashboard. This page explains common errors and how to resolve them.
Private Group
Error: “This group is private or restricted.”
The group has privacy settings that prevent the profile from joining. Private groups require an invite link or admin approval.
How to fix
- Verify the group is still active and accepting new members.
- If the group is private, use the group’s @username instead of a numeric ID when adding the server.
- If no public username exists, you may need to manually add the profile to the group via Telegram.
Public groups with a @username can be joined automatically. Private groups without a username require manual intervention.
Profile Banned
Error: “This profile is banned from this group.”
The Telegram account associated with this profile has been banned from the target group by its admins.
How to fix
- Contact the group administrators to request an unban.
- Alternatively, assign a different profile to this server.
Rate Limited
Error: “Rate limited: wait Xs”
Telegram has temporarily throttled the profile due to too many join requests in a short period.
How to fix
- Wait for the specified duration — the system will automatically retry after the cooldown.
- Avoid assigning the same profile to many servers simultaneously.
Repeated rate limiting can lead to longer cooldown periods. Space out your server assignments to avoid this.
Ban Prevention
Error: “Skipped to protect against Telegram ban detection. Will retry automatically.”
The system detected that joining this group right now would risk triggering Telegram’s anti-abuse measures. The join was intentionally skipped to protect the profile.
How to fix
No action needed — the system will automatically retry the join at a safer time. This is a protective measure, not an error.
Profile Not Running
Error: “Profile is not running. Start the profile first, then retry.”
The profile must be actively connected before it can join servers.
How to fix
- Go to the Profiles page in the dashboard.
- Find the profile and click Start to connect it.
- Once the status shows “Connected”, retry the server assignment.
Profile Disconnected
Error: “Profile disconnected. Please restart the profile.”
The profile’s connection to Telegram was lost unexpectedly.
How to fix
- Go to the Profiles page and restart the profile.
- If the problem persists, check that the profile’s credentials are still valid.
- Re-enter the session credentials if needed.
Numeric ID
Error: “Cannot join by numeric ID — the group is likely private.”
The server was added using a numeric chat ID, but the profile has never interacted with this group. Telegram requires prior interaction or a username to resolve the group.
How to fix
- If the group is public, re-add the server using its @username instead of the numeric ID.
- If the group is private, manually add the profile to the group via Telegram first, then retry.
Public groups can be found by searching their @username on Telegram. The username is visible in the group’s info page.
Join Failed
Error: “Join failed. The group may have restrictions or require an invite link.”
The join attempt was unsuccessful. This can happen when:
- The group requires admin approval for new members.
- The group has join restrictions enabled.
- The group link or ID is no longer valid.
How to fix
- Verify the server ID or username is correct.
- Check that the group is still active on Telegram.
- If the group requires approval, manually add the profile via Telegram.
- Try assigning a different profile to the server.
